Welcome to Sophie Meredith Silversmithing. I offer a variety of creative silver jewellery making experiences, weekend, occasional midweek workshops and our longer six week silversmithing courses. I also offer private bookings for special occasions etc.

Silver Jewellery Making Classes
Create your own silver rings on this fun, relaxed beginners workshop. A choice of designs are
available such as spinner rings, stacking rings.

Beginners Bangle Making Workshops
Make a silver bangle to fit you. Explore the joys of hammering metal, soldering and more! There will be a selection of design choices suitable for beginners to choose from. Workshops are relaxed & fun.
Workshop cost: £110
SILVER COSTS TO MAKE YOUR BANGLE is INCLUDED IN THE price! Extra charms can be made for as little as £5 on the day!

Beginners 6 week silver jewellery making courses
Join me for an introduction to silversmithing here in Southbourne. Each class is 3hrs long run on consecutive weeks. You will be introduced to traditional silversmithing and guided through different processes; I will be demonstrating a variety of jewellery making techniques such as filing, soldering, texturing, forming and basic stone setting. This course is ideal for beginners giving you the chance to learn new skills and you will come away with 4 items of jewellery such as ring, bracelet, pendant etc. This is a fun, creative and relaxing course where you will meet like-minded people, chat, learn, practice and develop valuable jewellery making skills which you can use at home should you wish to!
Cost £360 which INCLUDES all silver costs for your projects.

Gemstone Ring Making class
Gemstone Fidget Spinner Ring Making/stacking rings
If you love gems and want to add a splash of colour to your everyday wardrobe, then this workshop is for you!
Make yourself a wide band ring with a central spinning gem ring or a set of three stacking rings with a central gemstone ring !
Various gemstones to choose from!
Learn some basic silversmithing, hammer texturing, soldering and setting your gem. Ideal for beginners too.

Silver Bracelet making workshop
Join me for a relaxed workshop and make a chain linked bracelet. This is perfect for beginners too as class sizes are kept small to allow for lots of guidance. We will be forming, soldering and hammer texturing to create a flexible and unique bracelet to fit you! Cost £125 which includes all your silver costs and tea or coffee!

Seaglass evening Jewellery Making Course
Love sea-glass? Transform your beach finds into a unique ring or pendant on my introductory short evening courses.
(You will need to bring a selection of seaglass. I have a selection for those who haven't found any :)
These 2 week evening courses are ideal for beginners or those with some experience. Over 2 evenings you will be guided through various traditional silversmithing techniques to create your unique seaglass jewellery.
You can reserve a space with a non-refundable £50 deposit and the remaining balance will need to be paid via bank transfer four weeks before the course start. Please note that you must be able to commit to both evenings as you will start your ring or pendant on the first evening & finish it on the second!.
Make a seaglass ring- Spread over 2 evenings starting at 6.30-9.30pm on Wednesday 17th July & 24th July 6.30-9.30pm Cost £145 (silver included)- 3 spaces
Make a seaglass pendant- Spread over 2 evenings starting at 6.30-9.30pm on Wednesday
31st July & 7th August 6.30-9.30pm Cost £145 - 3 spaces (silver is included, chains can be purchased at extra fee)
Private Parties
Private Party- For those looking for birthday celebration, special occasions, hen parties, work team building fun or family get together then why not organise a private jewellery making party. These can be for a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 7 per party. We can arrange a date that suits you to make either rings or bangles! Week days and weekends. To discuss in more detail and check availability please click PRIVATE PARTY link below!
Wedding Couples- Make your own wedding bands. Email me to discuss :)
